Mark Donnelly, CFA, CFP, MSF

Mark combines his love for investing, fulfilling relationships, and the natural world, with his desire to form a partnership with all stakeholders of Atlas Sustainable Wealth. He is a fiduciary, upholding the highest ethical standards, has a lifelong commitment to learning, and invests for clients in the same way he does for himself.

 

Originally from England, Mark developed a love for the great outdoors while playing sports. He played professional soccer in England, his childhood dream. It was this experience that allowed him to pursue a new dream in the USA at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. At Loyola he built the foundation for his financial career and eventually found a passion for investing. A high stakes endeavor that can be just as competitive and demanding as professional sports. He was fortunate to develop a deep understanding of financial markets and its many risks as an analyst for a hedge fund during the 2008 Financial Crisis.

He joined a regional wealth management firm in 2011 to work with individuals, families, and business owners, helping them plan and invest. Here he found another passion for helping others build their dreams. In 2014 he became Chief Investment Officer, responsible for almost $1 Billion of investments, and created the firm's first Sustainable Investment Program.

In 2017, he joined a national investment firm to focus exclusively on Sustainable Investing, and in early 2019 he founded Atlas Sustainable Wealth. He also teaches financial planning and investment classes at Loyola University Maryland and Towson University.
